Criterion A Investigate

In this project I am making a portraiture. I have to edit a portrait of myself in a way of describing myself. In the picture in a way I put my personality, feelings and life. This project is important for kids because it helps them understand themselves and explain themselves. Some kids have no voice and doing this project can help them get their feelings out there. The picture can be any picture taken anywhere. Ideas for where to take the picture are place that I want to be in the future, a special place or it just represents where I feel I am. When I edit it I can’t just make it look nice and not put any of me in there.

After I have edited it on the computer, the picture is projected out and I trace it on a big sheet of paper. After I have traced it I use any materials that I Iike that represents me. I When I present my portraiture to the class I want to ask them why do you think I put this here, why do you think I put that there. They can answer and if they answer the way I intended the meaning to be then I have done a good job.

My guiding questions:
Will my clients understand my edited picture?
What materials are going to represent me and my interests?
Will my edited photo be edited enough?
Who will my client be?

When we edit the picture, we can use

The first thing we did was we went outside and each of us got to use the camera and we go to let our friends or Ms. Wilson take our pictures how we wanted it. I took pictures in 3 different places. First, Suugi took a picture like I was behind the gate like I’m behind bars. Second was a picture I took myself beside trees. I took that picture because I love our planet earth and wanted to make my project about being eco friendly. Third was in front of a blue wall and Ms. Wilson took that one. I was posing with my hands on my hips and smiling.

This is the picture i used to edit. I edited this picture in another way but i didnt like it that much. So i made it more plain and just colored in the heart. The other way i edtited this picture is i made everything wrong and red color.

For my picture, I used a picture that I took standing on the other side of the camera and the gate, and I made a heart shape with my arms over my head. The bars represent me feeling imprisoned sometimes but I’m not that free. It also means that i can't express myself sometimes. But the heart is that I know that I am loved and I love everyone around me. Behind me there is grass and mountains, that represents that I am in Mongolia and I love Mongolia.

When I tried to edit my picture and make it black and white or different colors and things, it felt too dark and it didn’t feel like me. So I left my picture the way it is with the natural colors of me and nature. With the blue sky and my dark skin. I think my skin color and my eyebrows are what stands out most from me so I didn’t want to change the picture so that no one can see them. The only thing I added on the computer was painting inside the heart and adding a little frame. But the frame is barely noticeable. I used picnic.com for altering my photo.

Test for the product:

A test for testing my product that i will do in art class is asking my class mates what they think i meant in the final pieace of art that i made in art class. I will see the difference between what their eyes see and what my eyes see. After everyone has speaked what they think i meant in the portraiture, i will explain what i really meant so they will understand.
